All Translink diesel powered buses have a fire suppression system installed. These systems require a specialised contractor to carry out regular preventative maintenance every 5 and 10 years and also reactive maintenance if and when a system is activated.

Translink intends to award a contract to PSV Transport Ltd to carry out this maintenance as they are the only service agent authorised by Fogmaker (manufacturer of the fire suppression systems) to carry out maintenance on their systems in the UK and Ireland.

They have confirmed that only one company (PSV Transport Ltd) is authorised to carry out the maintenance of their systems in UK and Ireland.
