Scope
Description
CITB are seeking to develop a range of immersive technologies to complement and enhance the training and educational services CITB's National Construction College (NCC) provide to our learners. As such we are seeking the expertise and guidance of industry experts to support the development of a detailed specification of requirements which will then be used to procure these services. CITB's aim is to develop a scope of requirements including a full end-to-end design of all associated requirements (hardware, software procurement and development, hosting and systems integration as well as other related peripherals such as power usage and internet connectivity) required to install and maintain a suite of XR technologies (e.g. immersive spaces/rooms, simulators/simulation, VR, AR and MR) designed to deliver known learning outcomes and objectives for apprenticeships and commercial courses. Learning outcomes may include - vocational trade-specific training, personal development, health and safety and hazard awareness (in construction and the built environment) The current budget for years 25-26 is £1m with the expected contract length to be 3+1 years and estimated total value of the contract being £4m approx. dependant on customer take up and budgetary approvals to continue.
Suppliers are invited to register interest and deliver a presentation based on:
"How they have delivered similar immersive technologies solutions in an educational or teaching environment, particularly in the Post-16 FE and/or HE skills sector, including an overview of why particular hardware, software and hosting options were chosen, their relative costs (purchase and maintenance) and their relative benefits, adaptability and applicability - including how and why specific immersive technologies are selected to meet the specific learning outcomes.
