Hertfordshire and West Essex NHS Procurement, on behalf of the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, is issuing this Prior Information Notice (PIN) in connection with the planned procurement of Waste Management.Alongside the PIN, a market engagement questionnaire is being released on the Atamis Health Family e-Tendering Portal (landing page https://health-family.force.com/s/Welcome; project ref C40699).Prospective bidders are requested to respond to this notice by the specified deadline. It is anticipated that the responses to the market engagement will help the Trust to select the most appropriate procurement strategy to meet its key objectives.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The separate waste streams the Contractor(s) will be required to manage under any contract resulting from the planned procurement shall include, but not be limited to: clinical waste, offensive waste, non-clinical hazardous waste, domestic waste and recycling, confidential waste, total waste management and miscellaneous waste streams.In May 2020 Hertfordshire and West Essex became one of the 18 Integrated Care Systems across the country. A key principle in the Hertfordshire and West Essex ICS is that of collaborative working. In the spirit of operating as an ICS, procurement projects where practicable should be undertaken on the basis that the outcome will be applicable to all parties (whether immediately or subsequently). Therefore, the findings and outcome of this market engagement, and the terms of any contract resulting from any procurement linked to this PIN notice in the next 12 months shall permit partner organisations to join the agreement at the agreed contract rates. ENHT's ICS partner NHS Trusts are Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT), Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT), The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAH) and the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust (WHHT).
