A cloud-based web filtering solution would allows the council to group websites into specific categories, such as shopping, government organisations, Information Technology, gambling, adult content, Health, news & media, business, education, etc. This gives us the ability to determine which categories are allowed and which are blocked to ensure staff are not able to access inappropriate material intentionally or accidentally, such as pornography, gambling, or phishing websites from their work devices.

As well as managing which websites can be accessed, cloud-based web filtering solutions provide an audit log of sites that have been accessed by staff, this can be used to support audit investigations into allegations of misuse or breaches of policy.
