Engagement process description

The Contracting Authorities are seeking input on a comprehensive service delivery model that includes: supply of feeds and oral nutrition products; provision of enteral feeding pumps, equipment and associated ancillaries; a nursing support service; servicing and maintenance; and associated digital systems for patient registration, ordering and management reporting. The service provider would be expected to deliver feeds and consumables to the Contracting Authorities’ sites and provide an end-to-end patient homecare delivery service.

This engagement is intended to help the Contracting Authorities understand current market capabilities, delivery models, innovation and product development, and key risks and mitigations, in order to shape the scope, service model and procurement approach. At this stage, no decisions have been taken on the final route to market or any future tender.

As part of this engagement, suppliers will be requested to present to clinical and procurement teams, covering the following areas:

Clinical:

Nursing and clinical support model including training, dietetic support, patient education materials.

Feed range and product development: Overview of the full enteral feed range and planned developments, including micronutrient completeness and clinical suitability across patient groups

Blended diets and support for complex patients, including pump compatibility and any alternative equipment options required.

Allergen Management

Equipment compatibility

Supply chain resilience:

Management of Stock shortages, including communication to clinical teams and patients

Digital/Systems:

Demonstration of electronic patient registration/ordering

Integration with NHS systems

Usage reporting/dashboards

Compliance tracking/wastage monitoring

Hospital discharge and flow support

Commercial, Sustainability and Net Zero:

Service model: FP10 – ON/OFF

Contract Implementation and transition plans with examples

Environmental plans including

Carbon footprint data

Packaging reduction/recycling etc

Links to the NHS Net Zero plan.

A Hands-on product demonstration of pumps and ancillaries would also be preferable.

The PME sessions will be held at the Hull University Teaching Hospitals main site - Anlaby Road.

Date of intended PME Session Monday 16th March 2026.

Sessions will include Procurement and clinical representatives from each contracting Authority and NOECPC who will be supporting on any future tender.

The process will be hosted and led by the Humber North Yorkshire Procurement Collaborative.
