The Department for Education (DfE) seeks to contract a single national supplier for the provision of food goods and the associated logistical services for the Breakfast Clubs Programme in schools across England. Food will be provided for school terms, from September 2021 until July 2023.
Schools are a vital part of the government’s plan to improve social mobility and tackle childhood obesity. Accessible and healthy breakfast clubs can play an important role in ensuring children from all backgrounds have a nutritious start to their day, helping them to optimise their learning potential. Evidence of impact is strongest among disadvantaged pupils where education outcomes tend to be lower and deprived areas where obesity rates are higher.
The DfE will award a single contract for the delivery of Breakfast Club Services, providing national coverage throughout England. To that end we welcome bids from consortia and/or a lead (prime) supplier with a supply chain of sub-contractors.
