two.1.4) Short description
Our current plant uses patented chemistry that is capable of recovering 99%+ of gold from electronic waste, contained within the circuit boards of discarded laptops and mobile phones. Scientists and Chemists at The Royal Mint are now growing this technology from Laboratory scale to mass production.
When fully scaled up, it has the potential to ensure electronic waste is handled in a controlled and regulated manner. This will help to preserve natural resources for longer, reduce the environmental impact of e-waste and foster new skills and employment in the UK as part of a circular economy.
A key part of this process is to develop, amongst other things, a Powder Gold Recovery Plant. Over recent months we have been undertaking in-depth research of how this can best be achieved and recognise the need to work with experts in this field to help us fully integrate the different processes required and achieve our vision.
