The council requires to appoint one supplier to provide preventative planned maintenance and repair services for heavy vehicles for an ageing fleet. The vehicle range will include but not limited to: refuse collection vehicles, articulated tractor units, ejection trailers, multi-lifts (hook lifts/skip loaders) and gritters.

The council's vehicles are mainly diesel operated but the council is moving towards alternative fuels such as electric and hydrogen.

The repair element will include but not limited to: body repairs, vehicle spraying and refurbishment work.

The start date of this procurement shall be 1st April 2022

To achieve the highest level of availability and reduce excess mileage and downtime, the council would require vehicles to be maintained at a location close vicinity of Glasgow City Boundary (actual maximum mileage round trip will be determined at tender stage)

The start date of this procurement shall be 1st April 2022

The council will appoint one provider for all services.

The council shall undertake a tender exercise using the council Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) “The Purchase, Maintenance and Repair of Heavy Vehicle and Plant” – GCC003831CPU

Period: 13th Oct 2017 – 12th Oct 2024 (Ext 36 Months) under Lot/Category 3 (7.5T and above) Purchase, Repair, Maintenance and parts of Heavy Vehicles over 7.5T.

This DPS is open to new applications for this lot/category and also the undernoted lots/categories:-

Lot/Category 1- Maintenance and Repairs (inclusive of accidental and general body work repairs & parts) for all Heavy Vehicles over 18T

Lot/Category 2 (7.5T and above)Purchase & Parts Only of Heavy Vehicles Refuse Collection Vehicles and Commercial Vehicles over 7.5T

Lot/Category 3 (7.5T and above) Purchase, Repair, Maintenance and parts of Heavy Vehicles over 7.5T

Lot/Category 4 Purchase, Repair, Maintenance and parts for Heavy Plant Equipment

Lot/Category 5 Maintenance, Repair including accidental and general body work may require parts
