NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) (the Authority) is seeking to procure a service for the Corby Urgent Care Centre under NHS Standard Contract arrangements with the objective to provide timely treatment for less serious illnesses and injuries which require immediate care but which do not require the full services of an Accident & Emergency Department. The scope of practice in Urgent Treatment Centres must include minor illness and injury in adults and children of any age, including wound closure, removal of superficial foreign bodies and the management of minor head and eye injuries.
Potential bidders will also need to consider an approach to support the following needs:
• Support a reduction in emergency admissions by working collaboratively with community-based services.
• Provide a Continuing Care Clinician and wellness hub that meets the needs of the local population.
• Contribute to reducing ambulance conveyance to A&E.
The service will be based in the purpose-built facility on the Willowbrook site, Cottingham Road, Corby, Northamptonshire for the duration of the contract. The opening hours will be 8am – 8pm, 365 days a year. The contract will be for a period of 5 years, commencing April 2024, with an indicative annual value of £8,000,000.
