two.2.4) Description of the procurement
In the Schools White Paper in March, the Secretary of State for Education announced that DfE would set up a new, independent, arm's length body (ALB) built on the success of Oak National Academy.
That body will offer support to all teachers, nationwide, to deliver high quality lessons as part of an evidence-based, high-quality curriculum. It will provide optional, free, and adaptable digital curriculum resources and video lessons that are effectively sequenced for key stages 1 to 4, as well as resources to stretch the most able students. It will achieve this by drawing on the expertise and inputs from across the country, involving teachers, schools, trusts, subject associations, national centres of excellence and educational publishers.
The purpose of this PIN is to initiate market engagement on initial thinking about the aims and objectives of that organisation; the resources that the body will provide; and how it will go about doing so, recognising that these factors are of interest to commercial providers. Given decisions have not been made upon these factors, this PIN is not a call for competition, but is designed to gather feedback on potential design features that will guide a future procurement. The value of any potential future procurements is to be confirmed.
We are now in a position to share more information about the proposed nature of these resources and how they will be developed. Decisions on these proposals will inform the objectives and design of the new body and will, in turn, inform future stages of procurement that the independent body may undertake with education suppliers in order to fulfil those objectives.
The purpose of this early engagement notice is to direct people towards a webinar designed to set out and seek feedback upon proposals in order to further understand their potential impact on the educational support market. This will take place on Thursday 30 June 13:30. This session will be recorded.
To register interest, select this link [https://bit.ly/3NbIJ2l] for the webinar.
Feedback will be gathered after the webinar.
If you are unable to attend the event please get in touch via curriculum.body@education.gov.uk and we will share the slides and recording.
This notice is a zero value PIN for early market engagement. We reserve the right not to enter a formal procurement process or proceed with contract award. The dates associated with future procurement activity listed on this PIN are subject to change.
