Cumbria County Council wish to remediate the site known as Marina Village located in Barrow in Furness. It is proposed to undertake a ground investigation. This will primarily be for the installation of groundwater monitoring wells but will also serve to confirm geotechnical information obtained during previous intrusive investigations and to fill any gaps in knowledge. The groundwater monitoring is required within mainly disused land off Salthouse Road and Cavendish Dock Road, Barrow-in-Furness.

This is an open tender where upon award, the conditions of contract are the core clauses and the clauses for main Option A, dispute resolution Option W2 and secondary Options X2, and Y(UK)2 and Z of the NEC3 Professional Services Contract April 2013 and as further amended by Schedule 1 of the Call-off Agreement. The project is to provide supplementary geotechnical information and provide groundwater monitoring wells to facilitate a groundwater quality assessment. Ground investigation boreholes are required primarily to install groundwater monitoring wells but also to obtain geotechnical information to supplement that obtained during previous investigations. Further information is provided within the project specification within the tender documents.
