The Haymarket Theatre closed in 2020 when its then operator went into administration and Leicester City Council now wishes to look at options for its reopening. Some consultancy commissioned jointly with Arts Council England has been undertaken with the city’s cultural sector, which along with this broader reaching soft market test will allow all options to be appraised for the future of the building.

Through this soft market test, we are keen to identify and engage with:

A) Organisations that wish to take on the full management of the venue as sole operators.

B) Organisations that do not wish to be the sole operators of the venue but who have an interest in presenting events at the venue

C) Organisations that wish to use all or part of the building for any other use

This will inform the level of interest in both aspects and allow decisions to be made on the way forward. Such parties are invited to complete the questionnaire available via the link above to inform the Council's plans for the venue. Please complete this by 18th August 2021.
