two.1.4) Short description

London Gateway Port Limited is planning to extend the existing Terminal Building and Amenities Building at the Port. The two buildings are located within the operational area of the Port and they shall continue to be occupied and operational during construction stage. Access for people and port vehicles/cranes/equipment to both buildings shall be maintained. The existing Terminal Building (TB) is a steel framed building comprises a four-storey office area located at the centre of the TB. To the north of the TB is a single-storey Internal Mobile Vehicle (IMV) workshop with a two-storey store and to the south is a single-storey Shuttle Carrier (SHC) workshop. The existing Amenities Building (AB) is a three-storey steel framed building that provides toilets, changing rooms/locker facilities, canteen, gym and office. Both of TB and AB have a BREEAM rating of “Very Good” under the NC2011 technical standard.

The Terminal Building extension includes but is not limited to

- a four-storey extension of circa total 1,200 sq.m. floor area to office area;

- two repair bays of one-storey 15m high circa 650 sq.m. floor area to IMV workshop;

- two repair bays of one-storey 20m high circa 650 sq.m. floor area to SHC workshop;

- an overhead crane to the external repair bays;

- an oil storage extension;

- a new grease pit;

- extension of existing climate controlled room;

- modification of existing office areas.

The Amenities Building extension includes but is not limited to

- a three-storey extension of circa total 600 sq.m. floor area to the east of the Amenities Building.

The tentative commencement of site works will be October 2022. The time for completion of the works is 8 months.
