seven.2.1) Description of the modifications
Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):
Implementation of 12-month extension option to 06/07/2025.
Rates to increase by 4.2% in line with the ‘Professional, Scientific and Technical Services’ category within Services Producer Price Inflation (SPPI) The modification relates to regulation 72 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 clause 72(1)(a).

Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire.
Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
The extension option was included in the original contract. As the suppliers have received no rate uplifts for three years and during a cost of living crisis, we looked for an indexation fitting for the service to link to a suitable percentage increase. The ‘Professional, Scientific and Technical Services’ category within Services Producer Price Inflation (SPPI) is the most appropriate for the services provided for on the framework. The current rate is 4.2%.
