We are looking to produce a new one off, national kinship care data set, derived from all local authorities across the country. Local authorities should already hold the data we are wanting to collect, however in rare cases some of the data will have to be first collected at local level.
The national collection will be focused on data about the kinship carer cohort. For example, we would like the data collection to include:
• Size of the kinship carer cohort, including special guardians and family and friend foster carers
• Size of the children in kinship care cohort

We would like the data to be analysed at local, regional and national level, and to be delivered in a report format.
