Description
In April 2015 the MOD signed a thirteen year contract with Leidos Europe Ltd to provide the procurement and inventory management of commodity items (as well as the storage and distribution services) historically provided in-house by the Logistic Commodities and Services Operating Centre. Leidos, working with the MOD, will transform the way these services are delivered to ensure requirements continue to be met whilst providing best value for money for the department. The organisation delivering these services is known as Team Leidos.
The intention of this PMED Notice is to make the markets aware of our requirement to procure up to 687 additional 'DEXIS IXS' Inter Oral Digital Sensors as an expansion of the MOD's current 'in service' sensor capability. As an 'in service' device, the DEXIS IXS Sensor has undergone rigorous testing to ensure compatibility and interoperability with MOD's IT infrastructure and existing dental imaging software. For this reason, only the DEXIS IXS is considered an acceptable solution, as procurement of an alternative sensor would lead to 'disproportionate technical difficulties in operation or maintenance'. This approach aligns with the guidance provided within the Procurement Act 2023, Condition 41, Schedule 5, Point 7 (additional or repeat goods, services or works).
In accordance with the above, Team Leidos wishes to generate interest in this opportunity for suppliers of DEXIS IXS Inter Oral Digital Sensors. For the avoidance of doubt, this is a Pre-Market Engagement Notice and not a call for competition, Leidos intends to compete this requirement later in 2025.
