Leicestershire County Council (the Council) is undertook a open procurement process, in accordance with the Light-Touch Regime requirements of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, to appoint a provider or providers to supply Residential Overnight Short Breaks Services for Disabled Children.

The Council promotes a model of empowerment that supports children to live a in a way that actively considers their needs, diversity and inclusivity. The primary aim of the service is to provide high quality residential short breaks care and where appropriate community-based outreach to children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and complex health care needs who are assessed as needing such a service by Leicestershire County Council, Children and Family Service.

The requirement was broken down into 2 lots:

Provision of residential overnight short breaks for children and young people with Autism and/or behaviours that challenge.

The requirement is for 3 residential beds.

Provision should be easily accessible to all areas of the County of Leicestershire and within the boundaries of Leicester City and Leicestershire County Council to enable children and young people to travel to and from their family and their schooling.
