A superabsorbent specifically made to slot into a garment making it a wearable Woundcare and Retention system to help manage wounds in the axilla, groin, and buttocks.

Superabsorbent must be able to manage at least a high level of wound exudate (Determined as at least 10 g/10cm2 via BS EN 13726- 1 2002).

Have a minimum wear time of at least 24 hours and be atraumatic to the peri wound skin on removal.

Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that within the first 12 months of the Framework Agreement the value of purchases will be circa £100,000 (Cost ex VAT), however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the Framework Agreement.

six.3) Additional information

The purpose of this notice is to draw attention to a procurement that NHS Supply Chain intends to commence during the subsequent 45 days.

NHS Supply Chain is currently considering the opportunity of entering into the market for the supply a Wearable Dressing Retention System.

NHS Supply Chain intends to enter into a Framework Agreement with a supplier of these products/services following this notice should there only be only 1 available supplier.

The Term of this Framework Agreement is anticipated to be 24 months with the option to extend for a further 24months. As part of its strategy, NHS Supply Chain anticipates engaging with suppliers of these products/services.

Completion of the Selection Question entitled SQ_371 Wearable Dressing Retention System will need to be completed along with the evidence of the following:

ISO9001:2015 Current and in date certification for ISO9001:2015 accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (or equivalent) to cover all segments of the Applicant’s and the product’s supply chain. This should include, but not be limited to, manufacturing, storage and distribution. Commit to obtain ISO9001:2015 will not be accepted.

Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC Evidence of compliance to the Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC, Applicants must provide the following 2 forms of evidence: a valid, in date CE certificate issued by a notified body covering the scope of products that are to be tendered for and an EC declaration of conformity covering all product lines.

Commit to obtain certificates and/or declarations of conformity will not be accepted.

The Framework Agreement will be between NHS Supply Chain and the Supplier. Under the Framework Agreement there will be one different method of supply being Non-Direct Contract Products (Transacted) NHS Supply Chain intends to enter into arrangements under which it will be entitled to purchase supplies which it will make available for purchase by:

1) any NHS Trust;

2) any other NHS entity;

3) any government department, agency or other statutory body (for the avoidance of doubt including local

authorities); and/or

4) any private sector entity active in the UK healthcare sector.

Only NHS Supply Chain can order from the framework agreement and enter into contracts under it.

Electronic ordering will be used and electronic invoicing will be accepted and electronic payment will be used.

For the avoidance of doubt and notwithstanding the estimate indicated at II.2.1, NHS Supply Chain does not guarantee any level of purchase through the framework and advises applicants that the framework shall be established on a non-exclusive basis. Tenders and all supporting documentation for the contract must be priced in sterling and written in English. Any agreement entered into will be considered a contract made in England according to English law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. NHS Supply Chain is not liable for any costs (including any third party costs fees or expenses incurred by those expressing an interest OR participating for this contract opportunity. NHS Supply Chain reserves the right to terminate the procurement process.
