Welsh Government propose to establish a three-year research programme to support and improve our engagement with the farming community to understand how they are responding to changes, including, but not limited to policy change.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The aim of this contract will have two distinct elements:

The Core Element - to understand Welsh farmers' experience of engaging with emerging Welsh Government schemes/policy changes; and to track changes over time; to understand Welsh farmers' experiences of wider structural and market-based changes in the industry; to understand what factors (from within WG and more widely) influence farm business planning and decision making; to explore emerging issues in depth with farmers and to co-develop solutions to issues apparent from the survey.

The Flexible Element - support the building of the evidence base for future farming and land-use policy by providing more detailed insight from the industry on key issues which cannot be suitably covered in the core elements of the contract.

In support of this upcoming contract, Welsh Government Strategic Evidence Unit would like to invite interested suppliers to an online event at 14:00 on Monday 26 June 2023.

The aim of the event is to highlight this contract to interested suppliers, to hold a Q&A session with a selection of WG specialist staff and to promote collaboration across the community of suppliers.
