The University of Edinburgh is looking for tender submissions from suitably experienced organisations interested in providing Financial Auditing services for Research Grants.

Lot 1 - EC grants Audits

The University of Edinburgh has around 215 European Commission live research projects with end dates after 2022 as either co-ordinator or partner.

In addition, it is anticipated that the University will be participating in Horizon Europe and the audits will start, depending on their end date and their value after two years from now.

Lot 2 - International grants Audits (US Federal grants, Gates Foundation grants and any other international grants audits as per the T&C of the funders)

The University of Edinburgh has around 380 International live research grants with end dates after 2022. We need to have an annual US NIH Federal audit of our NIH federal grants as the threshold of $750k is exceeded. In addition, other International funders require audits as per their T&C, including the annual Gates Foundation audit.

List and brief description of selection criteria

Certificates on the Financial Statement (CFS) must be prepared and certified by an auditor qualified to carry out statutory audits of accounting documents in accordance with Directive 2006/43/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2006 on statutory audits of annual accounts and consolidated accounts, amending Council Directives 78/660/EEC and 83/349/EEC and repealing Council Directive 84/253/EEC or similar national regulations.

Provide details of the previous experience your organisation has in undertaking EU audit work with organisations of a similar size, scope and scale as the University of Edinburgh.
