NHS Frimley CCG intends to direct award a twelve-month contract to North Hampshire Urgent Care (TalkPlus) in relation to Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) for the North East Hampshire and Farnham locality, from 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2023.

NHS Frimley CCG intend to award this contract to TalkPlus to enable service continuity while they better understand the long-term impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on demand for IAPT services, including provision of support into a Long Covid pathway.

This direct award proposal will provide additional time for NHS Frimley CCG to complete and embed work and to embark on a formal procurement process in 2022, with a more informed understanding on what the additional demand for IAPT services will be post pandemic.

The ongoing development of IAPT services are also an essential objective of the NHS Long Term Plan. This set the objective of expanding IAPT access to a total of 1.9 million adults and older adults nationally. This objective was set prior to the pandemic, which is expected to further increase the demand for services.
