two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Pembrokeshire County Council’s aims in purchasing this service is to reduce homelessness by providing housing related support to those staying in emergency or temporary accommodation and supporting them to have the capability, independence, skills and confidence to access and maintain a secure and suitable home.
The aims of the service is as follows:
- To provide person-centred targeted support, information and assistance to enable Service Users to alleviate and prevent homelessness.
- To support individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to prevent or resolve their homelessness, contributing to the delivery of Part 2 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014.
- To develop and expand move on arrangements to ensure that individuals are able to move on in a planned manner
- To provide targeted support to attain effective and lasting outcomes
- To support vulnerable people to achieve as independent living as possible within their community.
- To work closely with The Council’s Housing Advice Team, where relevant, to support the Service User to access and sustain appropriate accommodation.
- To work with social and private rented sector landlords to sustain tenancies and increase access to affordable housing.
- To provide a holistic, timely and innovative approach to supporting those who are homeless and / or at risk of homelessness to maximize independence.
- To work on a multi-agency basis with key partner organisations across Pembrokeshire.
- To work with the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) agenda to deliver a trauma informed response to support vulnerable people who have experienced ACE’s and to prevent future ACE’s.
- To build resilience in individuals through development of effective skills and strategies to facilitate self-management and improving ability to cope.
To provide support that also focuses on valuing and building upon the strengths of individuals supported, whilst ensuring that links are made with other community projects and services to enable others to play a social and supportive role in Service Users’ lives during and after support.
