Bangor University wish to inform the market about a forthcoming opportunity to bid for a Water Services Management Contract and gain an understanding of market interest in this opportunity.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Bangor University will be seeking to appoint a contractor to deliver high quality Water Quality Management Services for the control of Legionella as well as other coliforms and biofilms. Services will include risk assessment, sampling and subsequent reporting, treatment and maintenance of water systems as specified below, and compliant with current legislation and, in particular, the HSE Legionnaires’ disease Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) L8 – 4th edition referred as HSE ACoP L8.

Bangor University also requires the successful contractor to carry out flushing on a regular basis during the summer, when occupancy in many of its buildings, is lower.

In brief (but not limited to) contractor to carry out monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual Legionella control tasks as described in the HSG274 Part 2 – Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems.

- Review existing water quality risk assessments and amend/update as required.

- Carry out new water quality risk assessments where required and instructed by the member.

- Producing and implementing a regime of bacteria sampling to detect Legionella, e-coli and any other water bound bacteria.

- TMV Works

- Cleaning and Disinfecting of Water Storage Tanks

- Carry out preventive works following assessments.

- Waste water treatment works, including treatment monitoring and compliance limits.

- Flushing during summer months.
