The Scottish Police Authority has released this PIN as a Request for Information (RFI) to potential suppliers of Forensic Toxicology instruments as follows:

The publication of this PIN will be used to undertake preliminary market consultation and to inform the market of the Authority's intention to procure the above forensic instrumentation.

The information provided by potential suppliers in response to this PIN will assist us in developing the requirements for a formal procurement.

The Scottish Police Authority (the Authority), Forensic Services is expanding its remit to provide a post-mortem forensic toxicology service to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.

The Authority has a requirement to procure a number of instruments with associated maintenance packages as part of a project to setup a new post-mortem forensics toxicology laboratory.

The instruments to be procured and quantities are detailed below:

-Head Space Gas Chromatograph with Flame-Ionisation Detection (HS-GC/FID) x 3

-Liquid Chromatograph with Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (LC-QQQ) x 4

-Liquid Chromatograph with Quadrupole Time of Flight Mass Spectrometer (LC-QToF) x 2
