The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a Supply of a smart workbench on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Wales.The Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre – Cymru, requires a smart workstation (a.k.a intelligent workstation; smart work bench; etc.) for use as a general technology demonstrator and for use on variety of projects. The intended use for the smart bench is to incorporate and make use of the technologies detailed in this document, for tasks such as assembly with the aid of work instructions given on a computer screen with instant feedback; or to inspect components for defects with the use of a machine vision system. The system should be flexible enough to deal with different sizes, shapes, and complexities of components on the workbench. The system will also be used for general research into smart manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and further technology integration.
