The model requires a staff base that is a mix of both clinical/professional colleagues as well as peer worker defined roles and other voluntary sector partners. As such it is vital that people accessing the Crisis House are ready for meaningful and productive intensive recovery-based intervention though experiencing a period of mental health crisis.
The Crisis House will provide an alternative to hospital for clients able to be safely co-working in a community-based setting with support. Identification of ongoing community support or resources is fundamental to an admission to the Crisis House, and this is undertaken in partnership and collaboration with the client and community resources, including NELFT care coordinators, Crisis and Home Treatment Teams.
