This is a request for expression of interest for the:

Supply of Plasma Exchange Sets within the Renal Department at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Newcastle Road, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ST4 6QG.

The UHNM Renal Department performs Haemodialysis, haemodialfiltaration and Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) treatments (plasmapheresis).

A supplier intending to register their expression of interest will need to ensure that the consumables provided will be compatible & type tested with the Terumo Spectra Optia Apheresis System. Any alternatives to the below need to be made aware within your expression of interest to the trust. The consumables within this contract would include;

This is a request for expression of interest for the:

Supply of Plasma Exchange Sets within the Renal Department at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Newcastle Road, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ST4 6QG.

1. DISPOSABLE EXTENSION LINE – Disposable extension line which needs to be suitable for the application of warming and must be compatible with the Spectra Optia Collection Set. Sterile infusion extension made from PVC, outer diameter Ø 4 mm, length 592 cm. filling volume approx. 42 ml. This is a single use device.

2. PLASMA COLLECTION SET- A collection of sterile, flexible, plastic tubing and associated items e.g. couplers, adapters, clamps used to transfer blood or blood components into container’s or between containers for processing or storage. This includes extra bags for when a patient has a larger plasma exchange volume. This is a single use device.

3. PLASMA EXCHANGE SET – A collection of sterile, flexible, plastic tube segments and associated items intended to be used in an aphesis system to channel blood from the patient to an appropriate apheresis column before being returned to the patient. It creates a closed-circuit for the extracorporeal removal of a constituent of whole blood e.g. plasma. This is commonly known as a plasma line. This is a single-use device.
