Description

The MoD has initiated a project and intends to issue a Request for Information (RFI) to provide helmets for passengers travelling in rotary wing aircraft and aircrew operating in aircraft with both static (S) and ejection seats (E). Each of these three helmet types has a set of initial requirements which are specific to the aircraft/seat combination and type of user.

Preliminary Market to date as follows : PRELIMINARY MARKET ENGAGEMENT NOTICE

8th April 2025

1. This Preliminary Market Engagement Notice (PMEN) seeks to inform the market

of previous informal market engagement that has been carried out by Air

Command in preparation for a new headworn protection project.

2. The Aircrew Systems team routinely attends the SAFE Europe and SAFE

International events on an annual basis. Most of the engagement stated below,

has been by way of informal conversation carried out at these events.

3. The purpose of attendance at these industry events is primarily for educational

purposes (to understand emerging technologies from the market). Attendance

also serves to allow access on an equal footing to all potentially interested

industry partners.

4. The list of industry partners engaged with on this basis to date has been listed

below in Table 1.

5. Additional conversations have been carried out by Air Command with two

industry partners. The intent of this interaction has been stated in Table 2 below.
