This opportunity is for a total bed and/or Mattress management service to Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), extending from order and delivery and installation within agreed timeframes, response to clinical alerts and full on-site/off-site maintenance.

To:

• Support the Trust's healthcare services in an efficient, effective, responsive and flexible manner.
• Introduce integrated and convenient control and booking procedures supported by information technology which enables resource scheduling and deployment, provide unified statistics on contract performance both in quality and cost terms and any other management information that is required by the Trust.
• Provide optimum value in terms of quality and cost and delivers initiatives for joint cost reduction throughout the life of the contract.
• Provide a safe service that meets all legal requirements and is provided with regard for Environmental Considerations

The appropriate Bed and/or Mattress management system is designed to provide the appropriate bed and mattress, which is clean, safe, functional and fit for purpose. It also includes complete clinical backup and technical services. The full package will encompass the complete range of box & profiling beds and mattress associated services, to include the provision of:

• Flared box bed frames fixed at floor or head end
• A range of electric profiling beds, bariatric beds and electric/standard cots.
• Static sealed pressure reducing mattresses for use on all KMPT beds & cots.
• Locked Hybrid mattresses cot mattress.
• A bed maintenance and repair service (Trust owned/lease equipment).
• A mattress/ bed decontamination would be required if swopping out/replacing.
• A bed and mattress tracking service.
• A range of specialist pressure relieving mattresses and beds for patients whose requirements fall beyond the coverage of the new standard pressure relieving mattress.
• An annual planned preventative maintenance programme
• Annual mattress audits.
• On-site/Off-site technician service for individual Hospitals.
• Off-site storage facility
• Management information as requested.
• Controlled usage against established protocols.
• Continuing operator training for end user.
• Collection and disposal of redundant beds at no cost to KMPT.
