two.1.4) Short description

Nottingham City Council (hereafter 'the Authority') is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the supply, installation and maintenance of an Energy Storage System (ESS).

Project Aims

• to maximise use of renewable energy in the buildings at Eastcroft and when charging the new EVs

• to reduce costs by managing energy in a smart way and reducing demand during peak tariffs

• To develop interoperable energy management software

As part of this project, Nottingham City Council requests a solution for the supply, installation and operation of a 350kW/400kWh ESS and associated equipment on their Nottingham site. It has been assumed that the ESS will be composed of Lithium ion batteries.

The energy storage system will be used for optimisation of on-site generation, arbitrage and stacked TSO (Transmission Service Operator) and Distribution Services Officer (DSO) services. As there is considerable ongoing evolution in National Grid services and with the emergence of DSO type services, we would like to procure a system that has the flexibility to be controlled and used for the best service stack at a given time.
