two.2.4) Description of the procurement

CalMac Ferries Limited (CFL) is an operating company of the David MacBrayne Group, which is wholly owned by Scottish Ministers. It operates the Clyde and Hebrides Ferry Service contract, providing passenger, vehicle and freight shipping services on 29 routes, serving 53 ports and harbours across the west coast of Scotland and the Scottish Islands.

It operates a fleet of 33 vessels and carries 5.5 million passengers and 1.5 million vehicles annually with an average 440 sailings a day.

CFL is now in the early stages of a future tender opportunity for the provision of offshore crewing services. The services include payroll and administrative provision for Caledonian MacBrayne Crewing (Guernsey) Limited. Crew are employed by Caledonian MacBrayne Crewing (Guernsey) Limited to work on board any of the vessels operated by CalMac Ferries Limited.

CFL is seeking to learn more about the Guernsey market place and wish to gather information that will help to inform the future tender opportunity.
