The Council is seeking to appoint a single contractor to provide a cyclical stairwell (close) cleaning service across a portfolio of around 700 public sector owned buildings located across all areas of North Lanarkshire. The programme involves the cleaning of communal areas within flatted or maisonette blocks across North Lanarkshire, the Blocks are up to 5 floors in height and are multi tenure, but the majority of residents are council tenants.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The stairwell cleaning service, or close cleaning as it is known locally, involves cyclic cleaning of the communal areas of over 700 public sector flatted or maisonette properties, up to 5 floors in height. These properties are located across North Lanarkshire in all of the main towns. While a percentage of the blocks are multi-tenure the majority of residents are council tenants. The cyclical cleaning programme will include fortnightly general cleans, as well as more in depth monthly and quarterly cleans. In many areas a more extensive deep clean treatments will be required and on occasions ad-hoc specialist cleans will be required to include the removal of bodily fluids from communal close areas.
