The University of Wales Trinity Saint David are in the process of upgrading the networking infrastructure within the Carmarthen campus to improve the student halls and surrounding buildings.

UWTSD are solidifying the current footprint of Aruba hardware within the site and wish to take advantage of the technological advantages of having both Aruba switching and wireless access points providing internet services across the campus.

In taking Aruba hardware, UWTSD will have a Single OS (operating System) across their switches across its campuses and will allow long term integration with the existing ClearPass infrastructure with full ClearPass integration including Dynamic Segmentation, User Based Tunnelling, and Dynamic User Roles.

As part of this integration, UWTSD will take advantage of the opportunity to either introduce (or expand) the current VRF, VXLAN, OSPF, BGP protocols across the network.

Aruba switching provides the ability to have Smart rate copper interfaces run at 1,2.5,10Gb/s across the network and in room, WiFi6 APs will be introduced to improve the student experience.
