Please provide your e-mail address if you would like to attend the Market Engagement Briefing Event, which will take place at Pride Park Stadium, Derby DE24 8XL and via MS Teams on 15th June 2022 between 10:00 and 13:00.

This notice is not a call for competition, but advertisement of a Market Engagement Briefing Event for the Electrification works (Railway Systems) for Midland Mainline Electrification (MMLe). The Midland Main Line (MML) Electrification programme will enable the electric operation of the new bi-mode trains on the whole of the MML, from South Wigston – Sheffield (139km and 67 structures) by delivering works for the Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) extension to Sheffield and Nottingham, route clearance to accommodate OLE extension, and increased power supply to support electric passenger services to Sheffield and Nottingham.

The electrification programme is a continuation of the completed London to Corby electrification.

Part of the electrification programme has already been procured and is ’in delivery’ comprising electrification between Kettering and South Wigston

The next stage of procurement for the Midland Main Line Electrification programme is split into the following route sections:

• Route Section 2 (RS2) – Wigston South to Syston 19.5km

• Route Section 3 (RS3) – Syston to Trent Junction 28.7km

Network Rail is therefore holding a Midland Main Line (MML) Electrification Market Engagement Briefing Event to inform interested parties of the current proposed thinking to deliver the programme. The purpose of this notice is to invite interested parties to attend.

This event will take place in person at Pride Park Stadium, Derby and online as an MS Teams Live Event on 15th June 2022 at 10:00 and 13:00.

Please register your interest via the below Eventbrite link by the 10th June, 5pm.

Following the Market Engagement Briefing Event and before the launch of any potential procurement exercise for the MML Electrification programme, Network Rail is intending on issuing a Market Sounding Questionnaire with organisations that may be interested in participating in the opportunity to seek feedback on the proposed approach.

Network Rail is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party participating in this Market Engagement Briefing Event. Network Rail cannot guarantee that it will incorporate all or any feedback received at the event into any subsequent procurement event(s) or that Network Rail will proceed with one or more procurement event(s).
