Invitation of interest are requested to provide a facilities maintenance service to a shipbuilding and manufacturing facility located on the West Coast of Scotland with a workforce of circa 450 employees. The site accommodating heavy engineering, fabrication and general office and stores facilities.
The company will be required to provide a comprehensive building and equipment maintenance service to allow uninterrupted manufacturing activities to be maintained within their shipbuilding facilities.
The supplier will be required to provide a multi-skilled taskforce commensurate with the size of the business able to undertake all aspects of daily planned, emergency, and reactive maintenance on site with a 24/7 support service.
A tailored planned maintenance schedule will require to be developed in conjunction with the business which will address the needs of the specialised plant and equipment located within the facilities.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
There is a requirement to subcontract out the running of FMPG Plant team, providing a professional service across all shifts i.e. 24hours per day, 7 days a week.
The subcontracting service will be required to cover both the management of the people and the plant inventory.
This service is required to covers:
- the different safety aspects of using machinery and maintaining plant and equipment in the workplace.
- Education of Employers on their responsibilities for the equipment.
- Ensure adequate maintenance arrangements in place to ensure equipment remains safe to use.
- Have all equipment managed and maintained on the company assess registers (QPulse) ensuring accurate records inline with ISO 9000 requirements;
- provide equipment for safe for use covering from hand tools, ladders to electrical power tools and larger plant,
- Demonstrate that arrangements are in place to make sure they are maintained in a safe condition.
- Provide and communicate clear instructions and information on maintenance process.
- ensure maintenance is carried out by a competent person (someone who has the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to carry out the work safely)
- maintain plant and equipment regularly – use the manufacturer's maintenance instructions as a guide, particularly if there are safety-critical features
- have a procedure that allows workers to report damaged or faulty equipment
- provide the proper tools for the maintenance person
- schedule maintenance to minimise the risk to other workers and the maintenance person wherever possible
- make sure maintenance is done safely, that machines and moving parts are isolated or locked and that flammable/explosive/toxic materials are dealt with properly
