Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):

In accordance with The Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, Regulation 13 and Schedule 12.

Variation of the contract for Drug and Alcohol Treatment and Recovery Services with Nacro of Walkden House, 16-17 Devonshire Square, London, England, EC2M 4SQ for the duration of one year from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025, for a variation value of £1,704,958. The grant funding (Supplemental Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery Grant) has been allocated to local areas to address the aims of the treatment and recovery section of the UK Government's 2021 drug strategy. This brings the cumulative change in the lifetime value of the contract to 14.2%.

The interventions proposed are intended to significantly contribute to the priorities outlined in the Council Plan (2019-2024), the Public Health Vision 2030, and the Reducing Addiction Harm element of the Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2023-2028. This additional investment is aligned with the strategic outcome of the Council Plan: that we will build healthy, inclusive communities and the overarching aim that Wulfrunians will live longer, healthier lives. It is also envisaged that the recruitment aligned to the workforce initiatives will offer job and development opportunities - another priority of the Council Plan.

Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
