Explanation:
Given the letter of 10/05/21 received from PerkinElmer, the manufacturer of the equipment covered by the contract, Belfast Health & Social Care Trust is confident that PerkinElmer is sole-provider for maintenance of the equipment covered by this contract. Consequently, BHSCT is confident that the use of Regulation 32 (use of the Negotiated Procedure without Prior Publication) is justified. Also, no response was received as regards the VEAT Notice which was published on 18/05/21.

six.3) Additional information
Belfast Health & Social Care Trust has received a letter from PerkinElmer dated 10/05/21 confirming that "PerkinElmer are an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the sole instrument and service supplier of PerkinElmer equipment in Ireland and the United Kingdom". That is, PerkinElmer has exclusive rights as regards service of the PerkinElmer equipment covered by the contract.
The contract with PerkinElmer will be for an initial 3 year period (01/10/21 to 30/09/24), with the possibility of a maximum of 3 off 1 year extension periods i.e. a maximum contract duration of 6 years (01/10/21 to 30/09/27).
The maximum contract value of £275,000 has been calculated based on firm prices from PerkinElmer for routine service for the initial 3 year period, with an allowance to cover repairs and potential growth, together with estimated costs for the potential extension period.
The maximum value of the initial 3 year period has been estimated as £125,000.
The maximum value of the potential 3 year extension period has been estimated as £150,000 (calculated based on the total estimated value for the initial 3 year period, with an allowance in case of increased prices).
