London Borough of Ealing has a awarded a contract for Community Equipment from 1st April 2023 for a period of five (5) years with a two (2) year extension option to NOTTINGHAM REHAB LIMITED (TRADING AS NRS HEALTHCARE).

The London Consortium has established a Framework for purchase of Community Equipment and services. Following a tender exercise a Framework Agreement was entered into between the Contracting Authority and Westminster Council by 1st April 2023. London Borough of Ealing is a member of the Consortium.

The Call Off contract from the Framework Agreement is between London Borough of Ealing and NOTTINGHAM REHAB LIMITED (TRADING AS NRS HEALTHCARE). It includes a local contract between NRS Healthcare and LBE for the provision of Telecare equipment and minor adaptations. The total value over 5 years is estimated as £16.5m

The contract allows London borough of Ealing to purchase Community Equipment. Community Equipment services provide equipment and small adaptations to support people living at home. Examples are riser/recliner chairs, bathroom and toilet adaptions and aids, pressure mattresses and sensory aids. The service is available to all Ealing residents who are assessed by social care and NHS professionals as needing it, including children.

People using the service may be older adults, people with physical disabilities, sensory impairment or long term health conditions, or people who are autistic and/or have a learning disabilities. As well as supporting people to live independently at home, community equipment can reduce the need for care and support and delay the need for more intensive support or treatment. Community equipment can reduce falls which can lead to hospital admission and support timely discharge from hospital when a person is recovering.
