Original Contract Summary:

National Highways IT is mobilising a significant and business critical Cyber Security

Programme that will execute the vision and strategy of the Chief Information

Security Officer. The execution of the programme will allow the delivery of the RIS 2 Business Plan within an acceptable risk envelope. This is a highly complex programme that will require an intense level of meticulous detail to be understood and discovered to ensure the programme is set up for success.

This can and will only be extended for a further 12 months, with the exit plan being to procure replacement capability/managed service contracts.

This contract will only be extended for a further 12 months, with the exit plan being to procure replacement capability/managed service contracts that will span the remaining RIS 3 period.

Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire.

Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:

If National Highways sought to procure a supplier for the additional services, it would cause both significant inconvenience and substantial duplication of costs due to:

a) The time and cost of onboarding a new supplier

b) The delay in project timelines whilst a new procurement took place and the new supplier was onboarded.

c) Switching suppliers would disrupt ongoing work and impact continuity and quality.
