The absence of competition is not the result of an artificial narrowing down of the parameters of the procurement.
The NHSCT requires the purchase of liposomal amikacin dispersion for nebulisation which is subject to patent protection / Sole MA Holder and consequently no reasonable alternative of substitute exists.
