The Made In North Tyneside (MINT) programme, which is delivered under the Business Factory branding, is managed and part funded by the Council. The core Enterprise Team project is about creating opportunities for potential business start-ups supporting them to develop their ideas into viable opportunities. The new delivery arrangements will combine the Enterprise Team, New Product Development and the Specialist Consultancy into one main project.
North Tyneside Council secured a total of £4.052 million jointly funded by European Regional Development Funding (ERDF) and North Tyneside Council to deliver the start-up programme from March 2009 to March2019. The objectives were to increase the number of local residents exploring enterprise and self employment as a viable career option and increase the number of people starting up in business. A further £1.65 million has been secured to extend from 1st April 2019 to December 2021. Once again this is joint funding between ERDF and North Tyneside Council
