Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire.

Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:

The proposed contract variation falls within the safe harbour Reg 72(1)(b) additional necessary services as outlined in PCR 2015. This is because the variation involves installing additional basic remedial devices across the remaining 8 sites, which aligns with the original scope of the water efficiency scope encompassing all 30 sites. Additionally, the variation aims to maximise potential water savings, which is consistent with the project's objectives as outlined in the contract. Therefore, the proposed variation aligns with the scope of the original contract and does not substantially change its nature.
