Swindon Borough Council has established a DPS for the provision of passenger transport services in May 2019. The DPS has been split into 5 Lots:

Lot 1: Bus and Coach: Individual Routes/Bus Services (Public, Education and Social Care Transport);

Lot 2: Minibus: Individual Routes (Public and Education Transport);

Lot 3: Taxi: Individual Routes (Public and Education Transport);

Lot 4: Minibus Social Care and Community Transport: Consist of Dial a Ride and Shopping Service, Day Centre and Ad-hoc Transport Requirements;

Lot 5: Taxi Social Care Transport: Complete Package of all Routes and Service Needs.

The DPS covers multiple Lots, the duration of the current contract length for Lots 1 and 2 have been extended from 3 years to a potential 5-year duration made up by any combination of extension periods. In addition, the Council are also taking the opportunity to clarify the inclusion of the provision of Personal Assistants, where required, within the Call Off to support the provision of these services for Lots 1, 2, 3 and 5. The modification will enable call off contracts to extend beyond the end of the DPS itself. This will increase the value of the DPS when taking account of the potential extension to the contract term from £23.5m to £38.5m.The DPS has previously been extended to 23 February 2029.

seven.2) Other additional information

The amendment is made under Regulation 72(e) and 72(8) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
