two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Tŷ Newydd project is a 6-unit temporary supported accommodation located in Barry aimed at providing Housing related support to young and vulnerable people living in the Vale of Glamorgan. The project is manned 24 hours a day and maximum length of service is up to two years per service user. The project was first established in August 2014.

The Contract is for 3 plus 1 plus 1 years and the tender process will include an interview / presentation.

The Council's view is that there are TUPE implications for this contract. Bidders must obtain their own legal advice regarding this matter,

The Council believes that its current contract is subject to TUPE (“Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 as amended” and related enactments). Bidders must obtain their own independent legal advice to satisfy themselves of the applicability of the regulations.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has declared a Climate and Nature emergency and is committed to working with suppliers that contribute to our journey towards Net Zero Carbon.
