The Truro and Penwith College network supports approximately 12,000 staff and students, 3,000 wired desktops 1,200 laptops and 300 wireless AP's which frequently see over 5,000 connected devices. The Penwith Campus typically has 20% of the overall student, staff and desktop count with most of the activity taking place on the larger Truro Campus. The College network has grown over the years added to with the result that edge switches date anywhere between 2006 and 2020. These are primarily a mixture of Procurve and ComWare based HP devices with some Dell N series added between 2017 and 2020. The decision has now been taken to replace the entire network from Core to Edge with a consistent range of devices from a single vendor.
