Description
The University of Birmingham invites tenders for the Replacement of Waste Heat Recovery Boiler Panel with Integrated Duct Burner and Gas Turbine Interface.
The current Waste Heat Boiler panel was built in 1990/91 and controls the operation of a water tube boiler that utilizes the exhaust from a Solar Mercury 50 gas turbine. The exhaust heat enables the university to generate 3500Kg/hr of saturated steam @ 17barG although the boiler is rated at 25barG. There is a supplementary burner within the boiler that can fire from 0.2barG natural gas to 3.5barG which allows the flexibility of the boiler range between 3500Kg to 18000Kg an hour, therefore providing a base load during the winter months.
