The Department’s Brain Injury Reduction Programme sets out a plan to support NHS maternity and neonatal services to achieve the Department’s ambition.
1.3 The plan will improve and reduce unwanted variance in intrapartum services culture through projects to develop consensus in clinical best practice together with the guidance, multi-professional training and practice support tools for adoption and embedding in all NHS maternity services with a focus on:
1.3.1 assessment, escalation and action of fetal deterioration in labour; and
1.3.2 delivery of an impacted fetal head during Caesarean section (CS).
