The Council is seeking tenders for Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Intervention for a period of 28 months. This is for a perpetrator intervention that will both challenge and support perpetrators to change their behaviour, while always holding them to account to take responsibility for their actions. There is a need for the service to work closely with Brent Councils Children and Young People department in order to coordinate the perpetrator programme and accommodate the referrals expected, in the region of 120 for the duration of the contract. Additionally, it is vital that the successful provider liaises with services and the local Independent Domestic Violence Advisors, as well as the family support workers (where possible) to ensure there is ongoing safety planning and sufficient safety measures in place to ensure the victim safety element of the programme is met. The programme will be a behavioural change programme, as opposed to anger management, for men who recognise that they are or have been using power and control to abuse their partner/ ex-partner or family member, and want to address this behaviour. This abuse is more widely known as domestic abuse.
