Ardrossan Harbour, located in the north west of Scotland near Glasgow, serves the Isle of Arran and Kintyre with daily ferry services.
To increase capacity, modernise facilities and broaden the range of vessels which can access the port, the Ardrossan Harbour Company Limited and partners are engaging with the market in order to best understand how to package the respective work packages. Once complete, Peel Ports will launch a competitive tender process for the award of a design and build contract or contracts.
Peel Ports owns and operates six of the UK’s most important ports (Port of Liverpool, Heysham Port, Manchester Ship Canal, Medway, Clydeport (Greenock, Hunterston, Ardrossan) and Great Yarmouth). It also operates a container terminal in Dublin.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The aim of this periodic indicative notice is to engage with the market and to give advance notice of the upcoming procurement prior to the release of the contract notice which is due June 2023. Contractors are invited to provide early expressions of interest in relation to this opportunity.
It is proposed that the scope shall be for a contractor or contractors to be responsible for the design and construction of
• Re alignment of the Arran Berth cutting into existing land to form a longer 135m quay wall
• Mass excavation to the new quay line for disposal on land
• Associated new fenders and bollards
• Dredging of sand and rock for disposal at sea
• Replacement of the existing Linkspan with a realigned and wider hydraulic ramp, including new bankseat and cut off walls
• New passenger terminal building
• Extensive marshalling yards and car parks, surfacing , drainage and lighting
• New electrical power and distribution supply network
• Installation of a passenger access system (PAS)
• Installation of a LNG vessel re-fuelling system
