The current Common Data Environment (CDE) is known as the Assure Information Management System (AIMS). It is currently provided by Bentley Systems and is a cloud-based solution acting as a repository of information, as well as a powerful document and information management system across Boards.

A CDE is a technology solution and process that enables a collaborative way of working to support Building Information Modelling (BIM). It ensures that data can be communicated, reused and shared efficiently, without loss, change or interpretation. Essentially a CDE (or AIMS) is simply a digital place in which information comes together and promotes a collaborative working culture
